Alchemy is the combination of between two and ten ingredients, up to five of which can be different materials, to make potions. Potions can have a varying array of effects, all of which are beneficial. However, combining ingredients that only modify potions (ie increased duration, stronger potion, change potion effects, etc.) will only yield water, a potion that does nothing, sells for nothing, and can be disposed of by either consumption, dropping, or selling.
Types of Potions
There are 3 different types of potions in Two Worlds 2, each with varying effects.
- Resistance Potions
- Fire - Offers a set percentage of damage reduction from fire attacks for the duration of the potion.
- Shock - Same as fire, but with shock resistance instead.
- Nether - Same as fire, but with nether resistance instead.
- Restorative Potions
- HP Potions
- MP Potions
- Water (HP)*
- Water (MP)*
- Water (Resurrection)
- Enhancing Potions
- Strength
- Willpower
- Endurance
- Accuracy
- HP and MP waters are only called 'water' ingame. Unlike normal water, the effects vary.
Note that some potions can only be gotten by using ingredients that change the potion's effects.
Potion Strengths
Potions have different strengths, depending entirely on the effects of the potion.
- Small
- Medium
- Large
- Great
- Ultimate
Combining Ingredients
Combining different ingredients makes different potions.
Restorative Potions
HP potions can be made by combining one or more HP restorative ingredient and any of the following: Increase Potion Strength, Increase Potion Duration. They can also be made by using a Change Potion Effect ingredient wit any recipe that would make an MP potion. The effects of the potion will not change if you increase its duration. The minimum amount an HP potion can restore is 250.
MP potions can be made by combining one or more MP restorative ingredient and any of the following: Increase Potion Strength, Increase Potion Duration. They can also be made by using a Change Potion Effect ingredient wit any recipe that would make an HP potion. The effects of the potion will not change if you increase its duration. The minimum amount an MP potion can restore is 250. The effects of the potion will not change if you increase its duration.
HP water and MP water are made by combining HP and MP ingredients, with any combination of the following: Increase Potion Strength, Increase Potion Duration. In order to make HP water, your HP restorative ingredients have to be higher than your MP restorative ingredients. For example, combining a baboon's lung (+1000mp) with fresh fruit (+50hp) will yield an MP water. Combining more than one ingredient has not been tested yet, but hypothetically the ingredients' collective totals will determine what type of water you get. It's also unknown the effects of increasing durations and potion strengths of the restorative waters, and the effects of changing the potion type. In theory, changing the potion type will switch the type of water produced.
Considering the rarity of resurrection ingredients, the effects of such potions are relatively obscure. However, resurrection potions will revive the player with the HP percentage noted on the description if he dies within the time of the potion's effect. Since ingredients are very hard to come by, it's recommended to use several 'increase potion strength' and 'increase duration' ingredients with a single resurrection ingredient.
