The Gate of Gromsh is an ancient transdimensional magical gate in Gromshar ruins. It's important for the plot of Shattered Embrace DLC. Originally, the Gate was paired with the Orb of Gromsh.

History

The Gate of Gromsh was used by Lord Gromsh at the dawn of the Age of Heroes to transport his Orcish followers from Alsorna, so they could colonize the Morrag Peninsula, which became their sole dominion on the island (as a part of the Triumvirate). Later, the city of Gromshar was built next to it (as well as the Tower of Gromsh).

When Gromshar was sacked during the Tenebrae Invasion and abandoned afterwards (once Lord Ulzag took over), the Gate fell into ruin. It remained unused ever since. However, Adramelech was able to connect to it remotely, so he could open his own portal in the ruins nearby and use it transport his troops there from Tebris.

In-game

During the main quest of the DLC, Orias begins to study the Gate of Gromsh as soon as Fenrir's soldiers seize their hostilities, and the Hero begins his chase after their leader. Later, Dar Pha asks the Hero to send her letter to Alsorna  using this very Gate (although without disclosing neither the recepient, nor his location), which Orias is able to do only after bringing him the Orb of Gromsh (which the Ratmen took from the Tower of Gromsh after their arrival). Later, Orias uses it to travel to Alsorna himself (when the Hero is visiting Outworld).
