Two Worlds action takes place in the Kroth Universe, a world populated by literally thousands of different races. However, these races have no knowledge of each other, for the Kroth Universe has some interesting physical characteristics. A strange type of dust prohibits each planet from seeing the other. Since each planet has an atmosphere which keeps the dust out, intelligent life is possible, but only within the planetary sphere. The result is like thousands of goldfish bowls covered in canopies. Lack of visibility has prevented the races from developing space travel or any form of long-distance communication. The result is that all these races live in blissful ignorance of the universe around them and have developed in very different and sometimes highly unusual ways. The inhabitants of the Kroth Universe live a dream-like existence - until one day in the year 3001 a space/time collision changes things forever. Two worlds, populated by two very different races - Quidarians and en’Ceer meet in time and space and engage in a bitter fight. Only one of these races can emerge victorious. A player will take a role of Ned Jash - a Quidarian’s special agent dropped in the middle of the conflict.
Gameplay
Two Worlds was supposed to combine all the depth of role-playing games with all the action and strategy of real-time strategy games. Central to the game was said to be an innovative, well-written storyline, plausible characters the player can identify with, and challenging gameplay packed with adventure and combat.
Two Worlds was being built in the Wireframe Engine, a new technology for creating RPG games. Featuring state of art visualization technology, atmospheric effects, stunning character animation Wireframe Engine was said to introduce powerful tools, a flexible scripting system, and advanced AI capabilities.
Cancelation
It's unknown exactly when the game was canceled. The archived links on the official URLs vanish around March and April 2001, while the other sites, such as the Topware site and the Russian localization seemed to have vanished by September.
