Draft:Shattered Embrace:Troubles

The Troubles were a civil war on the island of Arveran that happened around thirty years prior to the Hero's visit (and the events of Shattered Embrace). The beligerents were: the Elves on one side, led by Lord Talinor (the future King), and the Humans supported by the Orcs, led by Lord Teramon and Lady Gorana, on the other. The Elves prevailed, and their rival races (later usually described as rebels) were driven out of the island. That victory caused the fall of the Triumvirate of Arveran and led to it's replacement by all-Elven Kingdom of Arveran.

Battles

One of the major battles was cleaning Shadinar of non-Elven citizens. Another (of even greater importance to the plot of the DLC) was what the Elven history recorded as the capture of the Tower of Dalnir inside Sharrean Forest by the escaping rebel forces. This allowed them to imprison a former Archdruid Larlandor and force him to open the Gate of Dalnir which allowed them to fled the Elven forces by travelling to Outworld (the event known there as the Great Crossing). The details of that account are later re-examined by the Hero, when he meets Larlandor personally.
