In order to awake the [[Gate of Dalnir]] and to allow the [[Hero's]] journey to [[Outworld]], the Orb was given to [[Dar Pha]] by [[Shagir]]. Unaware of Dar Pha's real parentage, both she and the Hero were convinced that it was in fact the [[Orb of Dalnir]] she's been using (as the only one touchable for a real child of [[Talinor]], as the member of the [[House of Dalnir]]). Shagir also handled to the Hero the cursed replica of the Orb before the journy; it would explode in Outworld, killing both [[Gorana]] and [[Teramon]], who was lured to activate it. One of the Travelling Orbs, this magical artifact was created by the Archmage Lorren, one of the Founders. It's important part of the plot of Shattered Embrace.
History
Initially the artifact was used to operate the Gate of Lorren in Lorrendar, allowing transportation of Human settlers to their part of Arveran, limited at the time to Karatree Reach. The Orb of Lorren was kept in the Tower of Lorren at the time, but after the Tenebrae Invasion and the destruction of Lorrendar, it apparently has been taken to the Palace of Hope by Lorren's son, Archmage Baramir.
