One of the Travelling Orbs, this magical artifact was created by the Archmage Lorren, one of the Founders. It's important part of the plot of Shattered Embrace.

History[edit | edit source]

Initially the artifact was used to operate the Gate of Lorren in Lorrendar, allowing transportation of Human settlers to their part of Arveran, limited at the time to Karatree Reach. The Orb of Lorren was kept in the Tower of Lorren at the time, but after the Tenebrae Invasion and the destruction of Lorrendar, it apparently has been taken to the Palace of Hope by Lorren's son, Archmage Baramir.

In-game[edit | edit source]

In order to awake the Gate of Dalnir and to allow the Hero's journey to Outworld, the Orb was given to Dar Pha by Shagir. Unaware of Dar Pha's real parentage, both she and the Hero were convinced that it was in fact the Orb of Dalnir she's been using (as the only one touchable for a real child of Talinor, as the member of the House of Dalnir).

The truth surfaced only after the Hero told the entire story to Larlandor, who made him realize the mistake (Lorren's Orb was blue; Dalnir's was green). Shagir also handled to the Hero the cursed replica of the Orb before the journey; it would explode in Outworld, killing both Gorana and Teramon, who was lured to activate it.

Real Lorren's Orb was used once again by Dar Pha after the Hero's return to Antaloor in order to bring back the refugees to the Palace of Hope through the Gate of Finglor and unmask Arbellen.
