Larlandor is a former Elven Archdruid of the Penultimate Triumvirate, an older brother to King Talinor (thus, he's regarded by Dar Pha's as her uncle). He's currently living outside Antaloor, in the Teacher's Tower on the edge of Teramon's Refuge, where The Hero meets him in Shattered Embrace DLC on his journey to Outworld.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Larlandor was the elder son of Lord Galadir, a member of the House of Dalnir (his grandson, to be precise). Some time in late Age of Harmony, he also sired a son of his own, Finglor.

After Galadir's death, Larlandor became his successor as the Archdruid, although not for long. Soon after inhariting the office, Larlandor decided to renounce it, leaving it to his younger brother Talinor. This also meant that the obligation to marry [Phallen]] passed on his brother. Larlandor withdrew from Shadinar and moved to Sharrean Forest.

According to the official account, Larlandor was living alone in the half-ruined Tower of Dalnir, when the Troubles erupted. The Human rebels stormed the Tower, kidnapped him, and forced him to facilitate their escape to Outworld, making him to accompany them by force, and most likely martyred.

This account is contradicted by Larlandor himself, when he's met in person in Outworld by the Hero: not only he wasn't martyred, but instead became a mentor figure for the refugees. He also claims he always on friendly terms with the leaders of the rebel forces (and his brother's former co-rulers), Lady Gorana and Lord Teramon, who gave him his old Tower as a residence. He advises them both on various matters.

In-game[edit | edit source]

Before going to Outworld, the official 'kidnapping' story is heard several times by the Hero, who is later confronted with Larlandor's own account. He's also the one who sends the Hero to the Red Dimension, so he could activate the Orb of Finglor (or the Orb of Dalnir, depending on the player's earlier choices). This is needed to facilitate safe return to Antaloor.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • A chronicle written by the Silver Dawn claims that Larlandor resigned as Lord Archdruid in order to avoid the unwanted marriage to Phallen driven by a secret love to another woman. Since Finglor's age is similar to Dar Pha's, Finglor must have been born prior to the Troubles. If his unnamed mother was the one that Larlandor secretly loved some time before that, this would mean Larlandor eventually revealed his feelings.
  • Another possible explanation of Finglor's parentage would be that Larlandor married some other Elven lady prior to inheriting his office. She would need to be dead by the time of his resignation, since only as a widower he would be a suitable candidate to marry Phallen (which he refused already being in love with another; but in this scenario, his love remained secret).
