Additional Details:

The Red Dimension is an infernal, alien world (located outside Antaloor) that must be visited in the Two Worlds II - Shattered Embrace DLC. It's the place where the Hero needs to travel from Outworld (and back) in order to activate the Orb of Finglor (or the Orb of Dalnir, depending on earlier choices), which in turn allows travelling back to Arveran.

Geography[edit | edit source]

The Red Dimension seems to be an infinite ocean of lava, with islands and mountains formed out of it. It has a red sky (sometimes resembling a cracked sphere visible from the inside).

The Red Dimension seems to have no real towns, although it features building-like structures (but positioned without any logic). The focal point seems to be a gigantic hand stretching out of a lava like (possibly: the one of the Antigod). Zombie-like demons seem to be the only sentient inhabitants.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The planet (if the Red Dimension is one) seems to be orbiting a star of similar characteristics (i.e. that looks like a sphere of partially solidified lava). It's visible instead of a real Sun.
  • Larlandor states that the concept of Hell in all major religions of Antaloor was derived from prehistoric memories of those mortals who were able to see the Red Dimension through natural, multidimensional rifts (that later closed).
  • Two books found in the Teacher's Tower tell about the Antigod who is likely a prisoner of the Red Dimension, whose dreams were materialized around him, giving birth to all kind of hostile creatures, as well as curving out purposeless buildings out of solidified lava.
  • The Red Dimension might have been inspired by the Red Planet from Phantasm (1979). It featured an alien world with a red sky, inhabited by the dead turned into slaves by a powerful antagonist with godlike powers (called the Tall Man). The first glimpse of the Red Dimension (visible through a natural portal in Outworld) might be a reference to the portal scene in the movie; a surreal look of the Red Dimension, it's zombie-like dwellers, godlike antagonist, and a motive of slumber as the origin story, all seem to support that connection.
