Travelling Orbs are magical artifacts created during the Age of Heroes by the Founders to facilitate the colonization of Arveran by using the magical Gates that the artifacts were originally bound to. Each Orb can open any Gate (not just the related one), but it needs to be operated by the descendant of its original owner (otherwise, it will instead hurt any other person during the attempt). The Orbs play a key role in the plot of Shattered Embrace DLC.

List of Orbs[edit | edit source]

There are four known Travelling Orbs:

  • Orb of Lorren can be used by the members of the House of Lorren. Dar Pha used it to awake the Gate of Dalnir, so the Hero could travel to Outworld on Talinor's orders (although at the time they're both convinced she's using Dalnir's instead). Cursed replica of it is was also given to the Hero prior to his journey, as a part of the plot to assassinate Teramon and Gorana instead of allowing them to return. It's blue.
  • Orb of Gromsh can be used by the members of the House of Gromsh. Thanks to a shard of the blood-stained sword of Gromsh, Orias is able to use it to send Dar Pha's message to Ghortarius (and later to travel to Alsorna himself, which is revealed only after he's back). It's red.
  • Orb of Dalnir can be used by the members of the House of Dalnir. It gave Dar Pha the scar on her cheek, when her parentage was tested using that artifact ('the mark of shame'). Larlandor later took it to Outworld with him during the Troubles, but it overloaded and broke during the Great Crossing (creating the Curse of Teramon). It can be later reactivated in the Red Dimension (alternatively to Finglor's) to allow safe return to Antaloor. It's green.
  • Orb of Finglor can be used by Finglor's relatives, like his father (which makes it similar in restrictions to Dalnir's). It's found unfinished by the Hero on Finglor's body and can be given to Shagir afterwards, as he demands it. If the Hero refuses, he later needs to activate it in the Red Dimension (instead of Dalnir's). It's green.
