They are the first undead enemy the Hero shall encounter and are said to be spirits wearing the bones of the dead. Many necris are encountered during the magic tutorial following The Prophet quest in the the tunnels. As well as the quest for the Orcish runestone.
During the tutorials a single fire bolt will kill them. However they are much tougher during regular gameplay. They can be killed if attacked carefully around lvl 6 warrior, but only if they can be separated. They are much more dangerous if in groups.
They also come in variations such as the Frost Necris first encountered in New Ashos.
