Two Worlds II Loading Screens display various pieces of lore. The aim of this page is to document them all for use as sources.

Two Worlds II[edit | edit source]

  • A Damage Modifier combined with a Protection Modifier will yield a protective barrier that not only shields attacks but also harms your enemy!
  • Although stacking multiple Effects Cards will strengthen a spell, it will also increase the casting time.
  • Be on the look out for stores dealing in Skillbooks. A newfound skill can be invaluable under the right circumstances.
  • Before entering an unfamiliar place, use an Occulus to survey the area. You never know what might be lurking just around the corner.
  • Block or evade your enemy's attack to greatly reduce potential damage.
  • Check the quest log to recall your goals.
  • Collect herbs and ingredients, and use them to brew useful potions.
  • Consult your inventory to find and upgrade your items.
  • Drink a healing potion to heal your wounds, or disarm yourself to activate regeneration.
  • Experiment with your spells. A Modifier Card used in the right way may alter an effect in ways you never thought possible.
  • If you find yourself backed into a corner, use Battle Cry to release an explosive blast of energy forcing your enemies back.
  • If you find yourself wounded and without a potion, sheath your weapon and let your body heal itself naturally.
  • Interact with altars to use their beneficial powers.
  • Jump to move faster.
  • Search any remaining corpses of defeated opponents.
  • Swim to take shortcuts through water.
  • The Giant Ant's hard exoskeleton makes it almost invulnerable to bludgeoning weapons and poisons.
  • The hard dry bones of the Necris may be immune to the slash of a blade but the bludgeoning force of a club will shatter their brittle bodies.
  • The island of Eollas is the home to Veneficus University, famed throughout all of Antaloor.
  • The potent venom glands in the Giant Spiders of Antaloor give the beasts a natural resistance to all toxins.
  • The thin tissue of a Vespine's wings are its weakest point and will easily burn at the hand of a flame.
  • Try assigning frequently used skills and items to different buttons for quick and easy access.
  • Try to have different weapon and armor sets ready, for any situation.
  • Use local teleports to travel quickly.
  • Vidons have been at odds with the Necromancers for centuries, and being invulnerable to Spectral Damage, they can hold their own in any conflict.
  • When surrounded by enemies, execute a Radial Barrage and fight your way to salvation.
  • When used properly, a Carrier Card will affect the delivery of your spell.
  • While waiting for one skill to recharge, defend yourself by using another.
  • You can always return to previous locations to continue unfinished quests or even accept new ones.
  • You can dismantle unneeded objects to collect ingredients for upgrades.
  • You can sneak past some enemies to avoid detection, or run to flee others.
  • You can try lockpicking chests or smashing them open with blunt weapons.

Call of the Tenebrae[edit | edit source]

  • According to Tenebrae hypothesis, the Nethers are a place of endless emptiness outside the realm of space and time.
  • Adramelech has declared himself the Archpriest of the Chosen and the heir to the Tenebrae order.
  • Adramelech initially called his rats "The Tribe" but would later give them the name of "The Chosen."
  • Dorchad's lake offers the locals a source of recreation, in addition to fresh water and food.
  • Evidence of the past days of the Tenebrae can be found in the artifacts scattered around and below the island of Tebris.
  • Orias's Mi-Go fungi emit glowing green spores and produce a haunting wail that can be heard from far away.
  • The Archdeacon of the Sixth Temple was known as "The Immortal."
  • The bulletin board in Dorchad contains useful information, tasks and offers.
  • The Chosen were misguided by Adramelech, and led to believe that they were the inheritors of the Tenebrae Order.
  • The Day of All Crops is an annual feast in Dorchad, celebrated by all locals.
  • The distant relatives of the aggressive Scapulari, the Motharks are a sentient species of aquatic creatures. Preferring to live in the marshlands, the Motharks have long been at peace with humans.
  • The head of the Sixth Temple of the Tenebrae was the Grandmaster of the Order's ruling body, known as the Trinity.
  • The island's name, "Tebris", is a long-corrupted version of "Tenebris", the original name it held during the days of the Order.
  • The Lake of the Lost lies east of Dorchad and contains an abandoned islet known as the "Island of the Mists". Rumor has it that the islet is haunted by the ancient memories of the Tenebrae.
  • The Sixth Temple of the Tenebrae Order was located on the island of Tebris, primarily due to the rich irenite deposits.
  • The Sixth Temple was used to develop and test the Tenebrae's most cutting edge and dangerous creations. Developing new Ocili, cross breeding various species to create new races and building portals across space and time were just some of the experiments carried out there.
  • The Tenebrae created special mirrors which allowed them to gaze into shards of the past.
  • The Tenebrae invented and mastered the dark art of creating Oculi, which require the eyes of various races to construct them.
  • The Tenebrae were destroyed ages ago, the result of their few surviving enemies forming an uneasy alliance with those who feared becoming their next target.
  • The Trinity was the highest ruling body of the Tenebrae Order.
  • The key territories of the Tenebrae on the southwestern part of Tebris have long been cut off by an impassable mountain range.
  • There are rumors that the Undertemple, an underground shrine of the Tenebrae, still stands intact somewhere beneath the island of Tebris.

  • Bernard Vanderbilt led an expedition on Abraham's orders. His job was to retrieve Tenebrae artifacts from a ruined temple.
  • Ebenezer Vanderbilt owned an irenite mine on Tebris. He apparently died during a mining strike, led by the miner's foreman, a man named Gillscar.
  • Jonas Vanderbilt is the son of Ebenzer Vanderbilt, a deceased irenite mine owner. Now, Jonas runs the mine on Tebris in his stead.

Shattered Embrace[edit | edit source]

  • Adramelech sent his troops to Arveran after tearing the memories of it from Dar Pha's tortured mind.
  • All three districts of Shadinar are named after Warriors, Hunters and Mages. Those were dominant professions of the three races once inhabiting the city.
  • Ancient Elves in Arveran lived in Tar-Dalnir in the Sharrean Forrest. They were ruled by their Lord Archdruid from the Tower of Dalnir.
  • Arveran was one the home of all three races living in harmony: Humans, Orcs and Elves. After a great civil war, call the Troubles, only Elves remained.
  • Averian and Gramordan are two main rivers of the Morrag Peninsula. They both spring out of the Southern slopes of Qual'atar Hills.
  • Balek was a rich Mothark, one of Laginu's cousins. His ship broke apart on the rocks off Cloudy Bay, but the gold salvaged from the wreckage was the seed money for the foundation of Freehaven.
  • Before Shadinar was built, all three races of Arveran lived separately. The Humans lived in Lorrendar, the Orcs in Gromshar, and the Elves in Tar-Dalnir.
  • Before the Tenebrae Invasion, all three races of Arveran lived on different regions of the island. After their original towns have been burnt to the ground by the dark monks, they built Shadinar City together and settled there as a united people.
  • Captain Shagir is the current head of the Royal Guard. During the Troubles, he served in the Lost Legion.
  • Chieftain Kartiki is an important person in Mothark society. Freehaven's mayor Laginu respects him greatly.
  • Choose your allies wisely within the walls of Shadinar.
  • Each district of Shadinar was built by a different race: Humans live in the Mages' Quarter, Orcs in the Warriors' Quarter, and Elves in the Hunters' Quarter.
  • Each tower of the Palace of Hope is named after a member of the Second Triumvirate: Baramir, Galadir, and Ulzag.
  • Elves utilize Athria Beach and the Qual'atar Canyons as closed proving grounds to test their war machines.
  • Fenrir is Adramelech's chief enforcer. He leads the strike force of Chosen that was sent to Arveran before Adramelech fell.
  • Fenrir was Adramelech's most trusted lieutenant, and a devoted believer in his ideology.
  • Finglor is the son of the martyred Lord Larlandor, and the King's nephew. He is also the Royal Engineer at the court.
  • Freehaven is located over the waters of the Cloudy Bay, so non-Elves can live there without breaking Elven laws.
  • Freehaven is often visited by merchants from overseas. It supplies Shadinar City with whatever the Elves can't make on their own.
  • Freehaven was built atop the ruined Tower of Lorren, where the original Lord Archmage of Humans used to reside.
  • Gramordan and Averian are two main rivers of Arveran. They flow through the Morrag Peninsula, joining near the Stone Bridge.
  • Gromshar ruins are the remains of an ancient Orcish city on Arveran. It was destroyed during the Tenebrae Invasion.
  • High Preist Baelir leads the cult of Aziraal in Shadinar. His temple is located in the Warriors' Quarter.
  • High Preist Tarundil leads the cult of Maliel in Shadinar. Her temple is located in the Hunters' Quarter.
  • Ilaesir is one of the most talented painters in Shadinar. Rumor has it that he's quite jealous of his rival, Zotmar.
  • In ancient times, all Orcs in Arveran lived in Gromshar on the Morrag Peninsula. They were ruled by the Lord General from the Tower of Gromsh.

In Ancient Times, Karatree Reach was inhabited by the Human settlers led by Lord Lorren. Their town, Lorrendar, was sunk into the sea during the War of the Tenebrae.

  • In ancient times, the malevolent Tenebrae Order attempted to invade Arveran. Their Dark Priests managed to destroy all three towers of the Stone Crown, as well as the surrounding towns, but ultimately, they were defeated.
  • In ancient times, the Morrag Peninsula was inhabited by the Orcish settlers led by Lord Gromsh. Their town Gromshar was deserted after the War of the Tenebrae.
  • In ancient times, the Sharrean Forest was inhabited by the Elven settlers led by Lord Dalnir. Their town, Tar-Dalnir, was deserted after the war of the Tenebrae.
  • In the Underground Armory of the Royal Guard the Elven weaponry is stored. It lies below the New Fort in the Warriors' Quarter.
  • Karatree Reach and Morrag Peninsula are separated by Qual'atar Hills, but both can be entered from Shadinar.
  • Karatree Reach is the home of wild beasts. Elven nobles often hunt them for sport.
  • Laginu is the mayor of Freehaven. He is also a part-time wizard, more than capable of helping those who are friendly to him.
  • Larlandor the Great vanished during the Troubles, kidnapped by the Humans during their escape. He's believed to be martyred.
  • Lertis is Fenrir's second-in-command. He believes in Adramelech's cause, but not with the single-minded zealotry of his master.
  • Lieutenant Kardir is Shagir's deputy. He commands the Royal Guard Camp on Karatree Reach.
  • Lord Talinor, Lady Gorana and Lord Teramon ruled Arveran together as the Last Triumvirate, until the Troubles began. Talinor then crowned himself King.
  • Lord Talinor and Lord Larlandor were brothers. Larlandor renounced his title of Archduid, allowing younger Talinor to take his place.
  • Maleno was the founder of Freehaven, and one of Laginu's cousins. His story is dark and shrounded in mystery.
  • Orias and Adramelech both once belonged to the Tenebrae Order, but over time, they chose different paths.
  • Qual'atar Hills separate the Morrag Peninsula from Karatree Reach. They can't be crossed, only bypassed through Shadinar.
  • Queen Arbellen is the second wife of King Talinor. The first one was Phallen, whio died during the Troubles.
  • Remember that Humans are normally not allowed to walk on the streets of Shadinar City.
  • Shadinar was built after the Tenebrae Invasion, when the Dark Priests burned the older towns of Lorrendar, Gromshar and Tal-Dalnir to the ground.
  • Sharrean Forest and Morrag Peninsula are separated by Vael'nir Hills, but can be entered from Shadinar.
  • Silver Dawn is a mysterious Elven cult. Their Inner Sanctum seems to be located somewhere in the Undercity below Shadinar.
  • Tal-Dalnir ruins are the remains of the original Elven city of Arveran. It was destroyed during the Tenebrae Invasion.
  • Teramon was the Lord Archmage when the Troubles began. He escaped to another dimension using the magical Gate.
  • The ancient ruins on the edge of the Morrag Peninsula are the remains of the Tower of Gromsh. It used to be the heart of the Orcish settlement called Gromshar.
  • The ancient ruins on the edge of the Sharrean Woods are the remains of the Tower of Dalnir. It ued to be the heart of the Elven settlement called Tar-Dalnir.
  • The ancient towers on Arveran are called the Stone Crown. Each was inhabited by the Founder. the Human wizard Lorren, the Orcish warrior Gromsh and the Eleven druid Dalnir.
  • The deserted Tower of Dalnir lies in Tar-Dalnir ruins. The ancient Lord Archmage, the leader of the Elves, used to reside in it.
  • The Feast of Founding is celebrated every year in Freehaven. It commemorates the founding of the city by Laginu's cousin, Maleno.
  • The Founders fell during the Tenebrae Invasion. The Second Triumvirate took their place: Lord Baramir, Lord Galadir, and Lord Ulzag.
  • The Founders were immortalized as statues in the Square of the Founders in Arveran, with each statue embracing the others.
  • The Hunters' Quarter of Shadinar was the original Elven district. Their leaders used the title of Lord Archdruid.
  • The Ingot Wards Foundry is where the Elves golems are built. It lies below the Old Fort in Warriors' Quarter.
  • The Islet of the Damned lies near Freehaven. Its northern part can be accessed from there directly, and houses a Mothark shrine.
  • The members of the First Triumvirate all fell during the Troubles. Their successors decided to jointly build Shadinar.
  • The sight and feel of Arveran caused Dar Pha's long-repressed childhood memories returning, but fragmented and incomplete.
  • The statue of Lord Dalnir in the Square of the Founders was once accompanied by statues of Lord Lorren and Lord Gromsh, but those were toppled during the Troubles.
  • The Tower of Baramir in the Royal Palace is named after the Lord Archmage of the Second Triumvirate. Baramir was a Human, the son of Lorren, one of the Founders.
  • The Tower of Galadir in the Royal Palace is named after the Lord Archdruid of the second Triumvirate. Galadir was an Elf, King Talinor's Father.
  • The Tower of Ulzag in the Royal Palace is named after the Lord General of the Second Triumvirate. Ulzag was the son of the Orcish warlord Gromsh, one of the Founders.
  • The Undercity is a mysterious labyrinth below Shadinar. All city dungeons are said to be linked to it by secret doors.
  • The Warrior's Quarter of Shadinar was once home to the Orcs. Their leaders used the title of Lord General.
  • Three ancient towers on Arveran are called the Stone Crown. Each was inhabited by the Founder: the Human wizard Lorren, the Orcish warrior Gromsh, and the Elven druid Dalnir.
  • Three Founders were immortalized as statues in the Square of the Founders in Arveran, with each statue embracing the others.
  • Thunder Pass once allowed crossing Vael'nir Hills. It connected Morrag Peninsula with Sharrean Forest, but a massive landslide blocked it forever.
  • Vael'nir Hills separate the Morrag Peninsula from Sharrean Forest. They can't be crossed, only bypassed through Shadinar.

The following screenshots may belong to one of the DLC packs, but which one exactly isn't currently known.

  • Adramelech continued the Tenebrae experiments, creating new hybrid species.
  • Lady Gorana was the last leader of the Orcs on Arveran. Rumor has it that the Orcish king, Rogdor, was her lover.
  • Outworld is called "Midworld" by some of its inhabitants, who also refer to Antaloor as "Othersyde".
  • The rat Tribe calls themselves "The Chosen", in accordance with Adramelech's beliefs.

  • The Red Dimension is a most mysterious place. The concept of Hell in every known religion seems to have been modelled after it.
  • Use a bludgeoning weapon to knock a Colossus to the ground.
